The Services Sector Education and Training Authority (Services SETA) has reported overwhelming interest in the property sector, with 5,795 applicants vying for 200 places in its Real Estate Learnership Programme in Mpumalanga.
The applications come from youths in all the 17 municipalities in Mpumalanga, according to Services SETA Administrator, Lehlogonolo Masoga, who congratulated the 200 lucky winners.
It is noteworthy that the number of applicants is way higher than the number of vacancies in most of the learnership programs currently available to the youth in South Africa.

“The number of applicants speaks volumes of the number of young people interested in having skills-development opportunities in the property sector,” Masoga said when addressing the learnership program applicants.
According to Masoga, 5,795 young people applied for 200 slots in the property learnership program.
This means that the property sector learnership program in Mpumalanga attracted way more applicants than available jobs.
Masoga said the figures illustrated the number of young people interested in acquiring real estate-related skills.
“There is a big gap between the demand for skills-development opportunities and the number of available sponsored programs that can take the number of interested young people,” Masoga said.

The SETA administrator noted that there were going to be more programs in other provinces as well, so that those who missed out on this one may have other opportunities.
The 200 young people selected to participate in the learnership program in Mpumalanga will benefit from the chance to gain experience and qualifications in the real estate sector.
Learners to obtain NQF Level 4 Real Estate qualification
